Broadway UCC has a long history of strong commitment to Habitat for Humanity:
Two to three times a year, interested members and friends of Broadway Church don hardhats and form a volunteer construction crew for a Saturday full of sawing, drilling and hammering for New York City Habitat for Humanity. (No experience necessary!)
NOTE: Our winter volunteer opportunity will be on Saturday, March 3, 2012.
See our Calendar for details!
And back in January of 2008, a large group from the church traveled to New Orleans to help Habitat rebuild from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. (see photo)
In addition, at the end of every year the Broadway UCC congregation as a whole takes up a special offering specifically to support our local branch of Habitat.
At Broadway Church, we not only "talk the talk" — we also "hammer the nail!"
Above photo: On Saturday, August 20, 2011, Associate Pastor Travis Winckler led a group from Broadway Church to work with Habitat-NYC on a project in Ocean Hill-Brownsville, Brooklyn. With developers and government support, they helped build new-construction affordable condos that will become homes for a dozen families.
