Broadway’s Summer Drama Camp:

“PLAY OUT LOUD – RETELLING STORIES OF FAITH”

HEY KIDS! -- Join us this summer
for a week-long drama camp
led by our Children’s Education Coordinator, Stephanie Hughes.
Registration is $10.00 and will include lunch each day.

WHO:  All children, ages 7-12  (and 2-4 adult volunteers)

WHAT:  A week-long drama camp based upon Bible stories, culminating in a performance on Friday afternoon, August 14.

WHEN:  Mon., Aug. 10 – Fri., Aug. 14, 10 am – 2 pm
(Kick-off at the 5 pm worship service on August 9th)

WHERE:  Broadway United Church of Christ, on the corner of Broadway and 93rd St. (we meet downstairs in the Undercroft)

A LOOK-BACK at LAST SUMMER's FUN:

Broadway UCC started this neighborhood ministry in August 2008, creating an action-packed, fun-filled drama camp for kids, complete with a final performance for families and friends -- starring the kids, of course!

The children learned about different stories from the Bible and thought about how they could retell them in the form of a short play. They practiced acting out different emotions and created wonderful masks, sets and costumes to bring these stories to life.

On the last day of camp, the young thespians presented a medley of skits based on their favorite Bible stories and rounded out the performance by singing some wonderful songs, too! Families, friends, and members of Broadway UCC gathered 'round to enjoy the show and offer up well-deserved applause -- a magical time was had by all!
